Software is not finished at the demo
Plenty of programmes look successful at the first demo. The happy path works. The integrations are sketched. Production is treated as a later problem.
If the thing cannot be deployed, observed, secured and operated, it is not a business system yet. That is true of consulting recommendations as well as of code.
Discovery, architecture, delivery and operations belong in the same conversation. Custom software that ignores the release path and the people who will run it gets rewritten as soon as it meets a real load.
Web applications, mobile apps and APIs fail in the same way: the demo environment was a special case. Matching environments, logging and a rollback are not extras. They are how you know the software exists outside the laptop that built it.
That is the standard we use for engineering work. If you cannot hand it to someone else, it is not finished.
